Alan Agins, PhD to Keynote at 2015 NP Symposium

"Drug Interactions: Mechanisms and Potential Clinical Outcomes"


Dr. Alan P. Agins earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. He has held faculty appointments at Brown Medical School, Northeastern University School of Pharmacy and University of Virginia School of Nursing. During his tenure at Brown, he received the “Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award” over five consecutive years for his outstanding pharmacology lectures. As founder and President of PRN Associates, Dr. Agins has lectured nationally to more than 80,000 advanced practice clinicians and allied health professionals over the past 20 years.

The Drury Inn and Suites on the property of the High Country Conference Center offers a special rate to conference attendees of $159.95 per night.  Breakfast, evening drinks and appetizers are included in the rate.  Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-325-0720 or


Continuing Education

  • The SW Regional Nurse Practitioner Symposium provides up to 8.25 nursing continuing education contact hours. Pharmacy contact hours are also available and have been calculated, see sessions for the number available.
  • The Arizona Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)Commission on Accreditation.
  • Conference Goal: To review and update current concepts in clinical and practice management for advanced practice nurses
  • Target audience: Advanced practice nurses and advanced practice nursing students
  • Participants must attend the entire event to receive contact hours. A CE certificate will be electronically generated after an online conference evaluation is completed
