A message from President Kathy Wruk

Personal growth and development is the motivation behind life-long learning for the professional nurse. In order to best identify learning opportunities that support your growth and development, consider creating a vision statement that will guide your life and provide you with the direction and choices that support your personal and career goals. To develop your vision statement, first spend time thinking about what you enjoy, your values and goals, strengths and weakness. Then write out your personal vision statement, including statements about your future and what you hope to achieve. Now incorporate some actions that will move you toward your vision statement such as trying new things by getting out of your comfort zone; writing in a journal tracking your new ideas and thoughts; scheduling time with friends to support caring relationships; eating a balanced diet, getting exercise and a good night’s sleep; reading a book about personal growth and development; or taking a class. Don’t let your “busy” schedule take over, pause and refresh your life view so you can put the joy and energy back into your life where it truly makes a difference both personally and professionally.
